Man accused of firing BB gun in crowd outside 'Fiddler on the Roof' performance
Was this guy trying to prove that the new gun free zone established recently only hurts the unarmed citizen?
"PITTSBURGH - A Homewood man was arrested this week after allegedly firing a BB gun in a crowded area downtown.
Police said Andre Freeman, 29, was outside the Benedum Center Wednesday night around 7:15 when he fired multiple times.
A security guard for the theater was able to tackle Freeman and hold him until police could arrive."

Why would you basically commit suicide for no reason?
It is good that no one was hurt and it is equally good this guy will most likely be thrown under the jail.

I'm going to use this event to illustrate the folly of their ideas of safety when I write to them after tonight's performance.
That said, several cops and many security staff inside. However, if this guy was really armed, he could have taken out a good portion of the crowd before they stopped him.
Clearly, if you're caught in the crowd outside, you're a sitting duck. He proved that.
I managed to get done with dinner early enough to get inside about 10 after 7, before a crowd really formed.

I am going to send them a follow up email as well. As you know from the other thread, I warned them in advance this was an open invitation to bad guys with guns.
I would love to see this story carried as a national example of modern day foolishness in the face of the new unfortunate reality we live in.

For the record, I've received no reply to my strongly worded, yet professional, letter to the Cultural Trust.
