Review Status Question

I have made multiple purchases over the past 4-5 years without any issue ever. Usually done in minutes. Today took a little longer and got a research status.

FFL says it happens and not to worry but my last purchase was not even 8 weeks ago without a hitch.

Nothing has happened since then but I did receive my child support order cancellation. My child turns 18 in a few days but still obligated to continue paying until graduation. My ex had to complete a form to confirm she is still in school and entitled to continue the support order until then.

Is it possible they are seeing this event in family court and possibly looking into it as a potential domestic violence type of thing? It’s the only thing I could think of that has happened from my last purchase and now.

Just weird.

Sorry guys. I RESEARCHED better, got the correct term and found more than enough stories to set me at ease.

Didn’t help Trump was in town and what happened recently in my area may or may not have crashed the system but sounds like I just have to wait out the 2 weeks.

PICS may have been busy, or more likely the FBI's NICS system may have been down or inaccessible. That shuts down PICS and the operators hand out "research" status to everyone for a brief time if they think NICS will be back up quickly. If not, they take PICS down.

You'll likely get a "come and get it" call from your FFL in a day or few.

Meant to provide a follow up. Got a call a few days later and everything was fine. Can only guess it was the recent court docs to reinstate child support that caused a delay.
