Re: Introduction and thanks
Welcome aboard boats.
USN RET.
STG Jan 62-Dec 81.
I had a USCG in my last tour of shore duty at SONAR school in San Diego. I had a Chief at the CG station in Buffalo, NY who really wanted me to join the USCG. He was sure he could get me stationed there in Buffalo. I think he wanted to be able to kick my butt, after I embarrassed one of his boat crews. I passed on the invite and joined the navy.

Welcome from the armpit of Hell SEPA, near chester
Re: Introduction and thanks
Welcome from a fellow open-carrier! Been carrying that way since I moved out here in late 2010. Far more positive encounters than negative, and infinitely more non-encounters than positive or negative combined.
Re: Introduction and thanks
Another "welcome" and another invite to the upcoming PAFOA group shoot!

Re: Introduction and thanks
Hi, JDA. It's good to know there are other locals here.
Re: Introduction and thanks
Thank you for the welcome aboard, Staff Sergeant Noah. 'Love your quote and fully agree: Wisdom and knowledge shall be the stability of thy times. Often, these are the only stabilizing forces in chaotic environments.
Re: Introduction and thanks
It's all good, RWilson--there'd be something wrong without the good-natured interservice rivalry. (My immediate supervisor is a Navy veteran who's constantly chiding me for wearing my Coast Guard veteran BB cap to work. I simply tell him I do it just to remind him that I'm much cooler than he is. )
But, when it hits the fan, we're all one team-one fight.
I salute your service, sir.

Re: Introduction and thanks
Thank you to Emptymag and JDA58 for the invitation. If my schedule allows, you may just see me there--sounds fun.
Re: Introduction and thanks
Thanks to all for the welcomes. I'm enjoying the forum immensely and learning a great deal.
