Either way, been on 146.520 all night and haven't heard a thing. But, it's only a handheld.

Have you called out at all? When Jason and I were talking, two other guys called us.

I haven't, been wrangling the little ones up until about a half hour ago.
Re: Radio communication as part of preparedness
Hoppy and I were doing some 2m testing tonight, seems that i'm in a crappy area for simplex, so I switched to trying a few repeaters in the Pittsburgh area. While still on this handheld, I'm only able to open the Wexford repeater (K3SAL) 147.240. That'll have to do for now until I get my base station setup. Power supply comes Tuesday, and I'll be taking measurements tomorrow to order the coax.
Re: Radio communication as part of preparedness
Got my pre-made RG-8U (both ends PL-259) ordered, should have that in a week. Power supply comes tomorrow. Once i get the cable ran, I'll just need to figure out the antenna situation.

Geez, if you were closer I'd have just made them for you. PL-259 is about the easiest termination to do.

I don't doubt that at all, but this is easier since I don't have the tools to do it. oh well.

'Still hoping we can all meet up soon on-the-air.
