I may be coming to Pittsburgh (weather permitting) for a weekend at the end of January. Any one have any suggestions for gun shops to go to? Its been a long time since I lived there and don't really remember any.

Ace, Bravermans, William Powell in Penn hills. If it's been a while, there's a new shop where Firearms Unlimited used to be down in Bridgeville. Owner's a good guy.
Very cool, thanks. i know I'll be out by Bridgeville so I'll make sure I stop by there.
Just curious why Braverman's is on your list? I've been in there a couple of times, and it seems like a little hole in the wall shop with limited inventory. Am I missing something?
My other favorite is John Brown's Armory in Rochester, although that's a little farther away than Ace.
Braverman's is a little, dusty hole in the wall. It's the closest place to my house so I'm there often. The folks that work there are great - knowledgeable but laid back. They have a small selection but its different every week and their prices are good.
I personally don't care for John Brown's. They were patronizing assholes to me but if you're not female your mileage may vary.
Ace has the best selection and is conveniently near a Harley dealership and a casino so you can enjoy a variety of vices.
Have fun!
My buddy in West View talks about Shooters Bench a lot. I've never been. He says they have good prices on some things and not as good on others.
Worth checking out at least.

There's a new place in West View that opened up this week, Steeltown Firearms and Tobacco. I was in today. They have slim pickings and high prices but they seem to be cycling through stuff so it's not stagnant.

Powell Guns - Bought my first gun here years back. Prices seemed good then.

I'll say that I frequent Island Firearms - Wayne is a great guy and will listen to any reasonable offer. Great (not big) selection.
John Brown's in Rochester is a great store with great selection. Although I've never bought much there, I am sure I will.

Since you'll be out near Bridgeville, Federal Firearms is another place to check out.

I second Shaw Precision Guns in Bridgeville. They're not very big, but they have a nice little selection and the manager there is a real nice guy to deal with. I've taken quite a bit of my business there since they opened up a few weeks ago and have been quite happy with the service I've received.
Ace is ok and it's where I bought my first firearm, but I've seen that some of the salesmen there can be a little cocky or condescending. Almost like they don't have time for you. I understand that things are a little hectic right now with everyone going crazy and buying up every firearm available, but that doesn't mean that I don't deserve to be treated like a customer instead of a number. It can be a little irritating at times...
And just an FYI, I'd noticed that with them even before things went crazy.
They're a great store for selection and if you want to get your hands on a few guns to see how they feel in your hands, but I'd prefer to go to one of the smaller shops as I feel some of them are a little more customer-service oriented.
