If they had enough power there would be NO private ownership of firearms in America, except for rich peoples body guards.
I don't know if "suck on my machine gun" is a threat as much as an insult. Maybe a warning?
Whatever it is, God bless Ted! He don't mince words do he? :)
just got the post off in time...
my company computer's "surf control" started blocking the site just after i posted it...
While I agree with his views, ol' Uncle Ted needs to be a little more careful about what he says. Making such comments gives the Socialist left every opportunity to use him as the poster boy for why we need to keep arms out of the hands of the "gun nuts".
It's the "Tree of Liberty" sign all over again, but on a national level.
Sorry, I always thought this a silly argument. I think "the left" will make up plenty of sensationalized nonsense regardless of how we act or what we say and without the help of Ted Nugent's line in the sand stance.
If the truth doesn't get in their way, why would anything else?
Not everyone is going to represent your views the way you want them to. Some of us are extreme, some of us are gun nuts...that we won't hide in the basement and cede all opportunity to speak on behalf of our views should only encourage all the so-called moderate gun owners with less-extreme manners of expression to speak for themselves (which we should all do). I think Ted's an idiot, but I also think that constantly worrying about our "image" is barking up the wrong tree simply because we're in love with the sounds we can make. The anti-gunners don't care about our image, it really doesn't matter to them. To the mythical unicorn that people often invoke in these discussions (i.e. the "fence sitters"), it might matter, but that's debatable. Besides, if we have to wear our "Sunday best" 24/7 just to bring moderate fence-sitters over to our side, we're watering down our stand to appease to the masses and we'll only be marginalizing ourselves.
What good is gaining 10,000 fence sitters if they're all afraid of their own shadow and so image conscious as to cripple the extremism of the movement? Rights aren't pretty, they're defined in the extreme...there's a difference between being tactical and practicing self irrelevance.
