Restriction on firearms on fairgrounds
Just returned from a County Commissioners meeting in which they are trying to restrict firearms on Mckean County Fairgrounds. The solicitor stated they only wanted to restrict during the fair. Anybody out there ever heard of this?
Or if it is possible ? under 6120 it doesn't look it. Thanks

It sounds like the commissioners need a new solicitor. No, it's not possible.
Re: Restriction on firearms on fairgrounds
Is the fairgrounds publicly owned or privately owned?
One thing is for certain - they cannot criminalize possession. Whether or not they can as a "property owner" under trespass is still open for debate.
The way things are supposed to be is: The federal, state, and municipal governments are to hold property in trust for the people, not as full and exclusive property owners, but as trustees for the public to use said properties. However, certain sensitive areas could be restricted. In those such places certain privileges and rights could be regulated. But in areas where it is open to public, privileges and rights would have to follow the same rules as open public domain(like roadways). ....again, that is how it is supposed to be like.
But with the courts regularly empowering the government, whatever level it may be, who knows what we'll ultimately end up with as for the respective government's ability to regulate public property.
