opossum living under shed
I just found out that I have an opossum living under my shed and I don't want him there.
What are my options to get rid of him with the least monetary expense possible?
I have a neighbor that I believe has a trapping license as I've heard him talk about it before. Could I ask him to trap it?
I really don't want to pay a company to remove it as money is tight, unless it's like really cheap (which I doubt).

catfood in a live trap (or any trap) would work, or just shoot the thing.......a .22 bullet is pretty cheap

Is all that legal without any kind of license? I don't want to do anything illegal.

If it is causing damage to crops or property, you pretty much have the green light to dispatch the critter in most cases. However you should still check into any municipal firearm discharge ordinances.
I have either a chuck and/or a rabbit burrowing into my porch and foundation. Physical damage in at least 3 places - it's a gonner as soon as I catch it out.

Moth Balls...spread a bunch of moth balls around the shed. The smell is very strong and it'll run him off. Plus, also keeps skunks and snakes away too.

I agree with Knight! A .22 round is cheap, but check ordinances on Discharge in your town/boro. Pellet gun won't do much but piss him off, and another option is to call Turtle man!

Gotta disagree with this, I've heard of plenty of people eliminating them this way.

Sounds like a good excuse to get a suppressed .22. However, the wait time to get BATF approval may have you going after several possums. :)

No issues with shooting ordinances where I live.
