So i talked the girlfriend into buying a pistol, and she decided on a g23. With the rep glocks have i thought it would be a good pistol for her.
Today was her second day out shooting. First day she burned though 50 rounds, today she went through another 50. After the first shooting session, i instructed her on how to tear the pistol down, take it apart, clean. lube and reassemble. Today we shot 2 full magazines through it, then halfway through the second magazine it jammed. Ejected spend casing and lodged the fresh round into the feed ramp to where it would not go into the chamber.
She handed me the gun as she is unfamiliar with jams and such. I unjammed the gun, put the magazine back in and dropped the slide. Same thing happened again. Unjammed the gun, put the mag back in and fired another 2 or 3 full magazines out of it without malfunction.
We were shooting CCI blazer brass out of it as i wont let her shoot my lead reloads. My S/W MP has eaten about 1000 rounds of .40 CCI blazer brass without any issues. I was pleased she picked a good reliable pistol like a glock, and now not so much.
So whats the deal? Anyone else have this issue with there G23? I can't see it being ammo related, and i don't feel its right that it would do that. I am thinking about calling glock tomorrow and get there opinions on it. Anyone have any opinions?
