1911 Gunsmith near Bloomsburg?
I have a Remington R1, and have had trouble with the slide locking back. At first I wasn't sure if it was user error - whether I was limp wristing, or something. I tried a Chip McCormick magazine, but had a failure to feed right off the bat. So I had the LGS send the gun back to Remington. When I got it back, there was a paper with it that said they had repaired the slide stop.
Well, I took the gun out again, and had exactly the same thing happen. I found a recommendation for Jim Garthwaite, in Watsontown, not too far from me, but when I emailed him I got the impression he couldn't be bothered. Maybe because he has a good reputation and is really busy? I don't know. Does anyone else know of another good smith in the area? If you've had work done by Garthwaite, is it worth trying to get him to look at the gun?

Jim is an superb 1911 smith..he is usually very busy and has quite a long leed time. He mainly does full house builds and does it exceptionally well.

I would send it back again with all your mag. with it.
If U need it repaired now? Try Sarco, in south side of Easton. See Chuck, he has worked for Kimber for over 9 years. Before taking on the gunsmithing at Sarco.
U know when the mag is empty it pushes up on the slide stop.

Garthwaite is your man. And yes he is busy. I would suggest that you make an appointment to see him. Built two .45's for me and his work stands the test of time...(and rounds down range) ...Good luck
