Default Pharmacist Charged With Murder In Shooting

    http://www.ktul.com/news/stories/050...l#commentsform

This guy should NOT be charged and the DA should be run out of town on a rail.

The ski-mask wearing perp robbed the store at gunpoint and lost.

The fact that this poor guy is being charged with murder is a disgrace.

First I didn't see it say the robbery was at gun point. Regardless there is much more info on this case that you haven't read. Read the link below. Also the executive director of the Oklahoma Rifle Association who got the stand your ground law passed there agrees with the DAs decision.

Jerome Ersland, 57, was being held without bail in the Oklahoma County Jail.

Oklahoma County District Attorney David Prater said Ersland was justified in shooting Antwun Parker once in the head on May 19. But Prater said Ersland went too far when he shot Parker five more times in the abdomen while Parker lay unconscious on the floor.

Ersland is seen chasing the second man outside before returning, walking past Parker to get a second gun then going back to Parker and opening fire.

The charge alleges Ersland shot Parker while he was incapacitated and lying on his back.

"Ersland shows no concern for his safety as he walks by Parker, and turns his back to Parker as he walks behind the pharmacy counter," Jacobson said. "Ersland is then seen to put the pistol he is carrying on the counter, and retrieve a second pistol from a drawer."

Ersland used this pistol to shoot Parker on the ground, the detective said.

    WOW! Just WOW!

I guess his defense will be "I could not have unlawfully killed him, he was already lawfully dead"(?).

Be safe (and remember, Death Wish was a work of fiction).

I heard this on the NRA news the other night, were Cam was talking to him. at the end of the interveiw the Pharmacist said that he was going to be charged by the local DA's office. At that point Cam ended the interview stating that he thought the case was closed. That was after The President of Taurus had given thePharmacist something or something to that effect...Cam couldn't get him off the air fast enough......Because apparently this guy was the hero of the day. I believe that we should continue to fire until the threat is down and stops moving because it’s not like the Perp can’t shoot someone from the floor, especially when there in fear of their own life. Why is it that the DA's office seemingly has to always try to prosecute anyone defending themselves or others? The Perp I'm pretty sure has a record a mile long. This poor guy has also been robbed more than a few times for God sakes. What are we suppose to do let them kill us. I rather be in jail breathing then dead if that's the choice we have to make in a split second!!

Except you'd need a Coroner or Dr to pronounce him dead first. People do survive gun shots to the head. I suppose an autopsy will show whether the head shot would have been fatal.

Hard to claim you shot to defend yourself after a head shot puts the kid down, and then you go get another gun and shoot him 5 more times point blank, after you weren't able to get the 2nd guy.

Nobody is disputing the first shot was justified...but there was no need to shoot a still body multiple times to make sure he's not only merely dead, but really most sincerely dead.

If the kid kept coming and he had to pump 3,000 rounds to get him to stop being a threat, I wouldn't bat an eye...but that's not the case, and the guy used excessive force IMHO.

Yes that’s possible but the Pharmacist doesn't know that at the time of the shooting, I'm sure he was in pure survival mode at the point...

Guess you didn't read the whole thing.

He didn't have to return. He could have waited outside for the police. He was not in danger.

Doesn't sound like he was in danger.

    EDIT:

LOL Survival mode? See above. Seriously, did you read the whole thing?

I just read the whole thing, yes, there is I guess some speculation as to what he did, I originally was working off of what I heard the Pharmacists say during the live interview the other night so, I still think that your judgment is very impaired at that point. That doesn't mean that the charges won’t stick...I can say without ever being in that position it would be very hard to speculate was going through the guys head.
