Default 22lr subsonic use in can?

Is it safe to use subsonic rounds in a P22 with a can on it? I thought I heard you shouldn't use them, something about not stablizing in the short barrel or something like that. But I seen on YouTube lots of people saying they're useing them. Just wanted to know I'm thinking about starting the paper work this week and wanted to know what kind of 22 to start picking up for the next couple of months.

Sure you can. Just don't use any of the heavy 60g .22 ammo.

I would not spend the extra money on sub sonic ammo for a P22. The barrel is so short that regular .22 stays subsonic. So, i'd say don't pay extra for it.

What can are you going to get? I have a gemtech outback II and a tac-65. I use the outback on the P22 and the tac-65 on the 10/22.

I was looking at the Tac 65 a local dealer stocks them. And they're in my price range for the first NFA toy. Thinking about haveing my AK trainer threaded to use it also.

The Tac-65 is a nice can but my gemtech is quieter.

Also, keep in mind the tac-65 is heavier, longer and larger in diameter. For me, it is / was a little too big / heavy for the P22 but works fine on my 10/22 and dedicated .22 AR upper.

Good luck - the .22 is a great suppressed round - it is as quiet as a pellet gun.
