I Don't Recommend Using Credit Cards At Stores That Mostly Sell Guns And Ammo

There are some stores that sell guns and ammo but also sell lots of other stuff, stores such as Cabela's and Walmart. There are also of course stores that do mostly sell guns and ammo as their primary products. I would not recommend shopping at such stores if you're going to use credit cards, if you are going to shop at such stores it would probably be best to pay in cash. Why? Because credit card companies are now apparently flagging gun and ammo purchases which can be obvious if the purchase is made at a store that mostly sells such stuff.

Lets say you make a big purchase at Cabela's or Walmart and you use a credit card, both Cabela's and Walmart sell guns and ammo but there is no way for the credit card company to know if it indeed was guns and ammo that you bought or if it was something else such as fishing gear, clothes, camping supplies, or anything else that Cabela's or Walmart might sell. If on the other hand you make a purchase at a store with a name such as "Guns R Us" and you pay with a credit card, its going to be rather obvious that you bought guns and/or ammo and the credit card company can report you. That's why I think it's best to pay in cash if you're shopping at such a store.

I use my credit card for gun/parts purchases with no problems at all. When you get ripped off?
The cc company always refunds me.

That's one of the things I miss about Walmart selling ammo - I could walk in and buy it and pay cash.

But you know how much that bag of ammo weighs! Walking out with 3 boxes of 22LR and if I have to upside someone's head with that bag, they're going down.
