Looking for information - Old shotguns
A friend recently discovered 2 old shotguns in the ceiling of his home while doing some remodeling. He asked that I see what information I can locate about the guns. Here is the information I have on the shotguns at this time. Both are 12 guage.
First shotgun has minimal markings. Only markings I can locate are an E / IG (E over top of I G in a triangular patern) and the phrase "The Needlegun" it is a bolt action shotgun with a rather large bold arm.
The second is a 12 Ga and was manufactured by Iver Johnson's Arms and Cycle Works out of Iftchburg, Mass USA. I belive them model may be "Champion". I believe there was a low 5 digit serial number on this gun.
Any information or possible value would be go great assistance. I may be able to get pictures of both guns if needed.
Thanks in advance.....

Re: Looking for information - Old shotguns
EIG from what I can gather was an importer mark for Saul Eig out of Miami Fla. from the 50's to 60's, he imported cheap guns and cutlery and slapped his name on them. Mostly cheap pistols but some long guns.
Did not find anything in my books or online with "The Needlegun", (other than the old 1800's military needleguns) check closely for any #'s or other names....maybe under the stock/forearm.
During this time period many cheap firearms were imported into the US from Europe, tracking down who made what is usually a chore.
I honestly doubt it is worth much, see a lot of similar imported old shotguns at fleamarkets going for $50-$100. Many aren't safe to shoot, good fpr parts or are what gunsmiths look for to practice on.
Post Pictures if you can, it may help.
As for the Iver Johnson...it may be worth $50 to $200(if like new) based on condition. Does it look like the one in this link?

I'll see if I can get the "EIG" gun from him and determine if there are any other markings.
