Re: Olympic Arms Closing
Olympic actually made a few interesting guns.
Their 1911 Westerner with the color case hardened slide is one I always wanted to get.
They were one of the first to offer pistol caliber ARs like .45 and 10mm and they made ARs in WSM calibers and iirc they had a .30 Carbine AR.
I used a PCR rifle for matches back during the Clinton ban.
Some of their stuff was shit, but thats almost par for the course for any company isn't it?

Re: Olympic Arms Closing
Pretty sure they were the first to make a forged AR receiver too.
They also hold the record for the longest continuously-in-production-AR-mfgr when you take into account Colt's "PC" abandonment of the AR market for a bit in the 90's.
Somebody had traded-in a SUM-barrelled Oly A2 rifle at the defunct Gander in Moon and it was going for a song. By the time I realized what it was for the price and went back the next day - gonzo...
Oh well, shit happens. All of my guns are lubed with BACON GREASE.
