So are you looking for a typical scope or a red dot?

If your looking for a red dot VORTEX StrikeFire is a decent setup, I have one on my 6920 and enjoy it.

I just ordered this one for my muzzle loading AR-15 build.

They're on super blow out clearance. I don't know how good they are, but for under $40, it can't be any worse than the Wally World blister pack special.

My Vortex StrikeFire has held up well. I'm looking to go with something else though, wouldn't mind selling it. I've had zero issues with mine.

I found the UTG Bug Blaster a very good scope.

It is 3x9 and has an illuminated reticle that is red or green when on or black when off. The problem with red dots or other illuminated reticles are that when the battery dies you are pretty well SOL. With the Bug Blaster the reticle is still usable even without a battery.

I got the scope and quick release mounts for about $80.00. Works great and holds zero after at least 500 rounds. And I really like the 9x with my old eyes.

The cheapest scope I'd get would probably be a Nikon Prostaff, if you want any kind of reliable performance. You can get the Nikon P223 for under $200...you probably have a nice AR, why cheap out on the glass?

I am a strong proponent of Vortex. Their warranty can't be beat (lifetime, no bullshit). I own a Viper (on my Rem700 LR in .30-06), Diamondback (on my longer range AR), and Viper RDS (on my FNX-45T). All have functioned flawlessly. I've heard great things about the strike fire. You might look at their prism sight too, although closer to $250-$300.

Go vortex. You won't be disappointed.
