Osborn IWB holster
Does anyone have any experience with Osborn IWB holsters (http://osbornholsters.com/hybrid-holsters/)? Specifically the TacticalTuck or the TacticalRig + mag? This will be my first IWB holster and so far I've only seen positive feedback with them. I think I'm leaning more towards the gun only holster but I wanted to hear your thoughts.
Thanks in advance!

Re: Osborn IWB holster
If you need to perform a reload/magazine change are you going to:
a) drop the old mag with your strong hand, reach for new mag with weak hand, insert mag with weak hand, bring the gun back on target
- or -
b) drop the old mag with your strong hand, transfer the gun to your weak hand, reach for new mag with strong hand, insert mag with strong hand, transfer the gun back to your strong hand, bring the gun back on target
IMO, magazines should be carried opposite the gun. If you want to carry one on the gun side in case you need to do a one-handed reload, then by all means do so, but it shouldn't be your only one.
My 2¢
YMMV
etc.

Re: Osborn IWB holster
Never heard of them before but holster manufacturers are now a dime a dozen. For hybrid holsters which I am personally no fan of I have used HH Holsters. High quality reasonable priceing good service and a lifetime warranty. I personally know at least a dozen other guys besides myself use HH products.

I also agree with the above the spare mag needs to be on the weak side and that holster looks terribly large which translates into uncomfortable to use.

Re: Osborn IWB holster
I definitely agree with your outlook on this. If I did get the one with the magazine holster in one, I would really need to practice doing an across the body reach for it. I wouldn't put the gun in my weak hand. I do already have a 2-magazine holster that I could carry on the opposite side. They do have the tactical tuck which is a gun only holster (I was leaning this route more).
I guess I was looking more for how people like the feel of it (comfort, retention, etc). From some of the reviews that I've seen, people compare it to Alien Gear except with much better customer service.

Re: Osborn IWB holster
These just look like a knock-off of Crossbreed, and I agree with the above posters - putting the mag holster on the same side as the gun is a dumb move. Shows me that they aren't thinking things through, just wanted to sell something.
I have had good experiences with IWB holsters from Crossbreed and White Hat Holsters. The belt clips from Crossbreed are better than White Hat's, though, so if I bought another one I'd probably go with them, unless wait time was prohibitive. (And I'm starting to form the opinion that the design/quality of the clips on a 'hybrid' leather/kydex IWB holster are too often overlooked.)
Don't cheap out on a holster. It's almost equal in importance to your gun. You're counting on it to keep the pistol securely attached to your body.

Alien Gear has similar pricing and are proven to be good quality.
Another brand I just discovered and ordered from, and loved... Foxx Holsters. Great prices and the product I received was is outstanding. Quality and comfortable and they offer many customization options. Also, got it in 3 or 4 days.

Re: Osborn IWB holster
I just tried it and I don't think having your mag on the gun side if you're positioning it at 1 or 2 o'clock isn't hard to grab and load. Just be aware of what direction you face it in the holster to make an easier load when you grab it, but that's true on the other side too.
If you wear it at 3 o'clock or further back, then yeah, you better be flexible.Galations 6:9...And let us not grow weary of doing good, for in due season we will reap, if we do not give up.

Re: Osborn IWB holster
Some of us older guys who are sporting "Tactical Arm Rests" (a.k.a. spare tires) have more to worry about than being flexible. I am *not* flexible. My gun rides at 3:30, my spare mag(s) at 9:00. I could reach a mag at 12:30 - *maybe* 1:00 if I tried hard with my weak (left) hand. It's also why my Miami Classic II carries my 1911 tight up in my armpit - there's too much of me below the chest to reach around if it's any lower.
