4 or 5 inch barrel difference
What is the difference between a 4 or 5 inch barrel?
Thinking of the Walthers PPQ M2I'd rather have a gun in my hand then a cop on the phone.

Re: 4 or 5 inch barrel difference
Kind of a generic question.
Without consulting my records , I will say about 60fps in 44mag pushing 240gr hard cast using a moderate load of of 2400.
5 inch gun was a danny wesson the 4 inch was a smith 629.

That and the longer sight radius is easier to shoot tight groups with.

Re: 4 or 5 inch barrel difference
I'll preface this by saying that I've never shot a PPQ, but generally speaking, a 5" barrel will be slightly more accurate & shoot a same grain bullet with slightly more velocity than the same gun with a 4" barrel. In the real world though, the average shooter probably won't notice the difference.
Comparing apples to apples, a PPQ with a 4" barrel will naturally be easier to conceal & maybe have a little more felt recoil than one with a 5" barrel."It's hard to imagine a more stupid or more dangerous way of making decisions than by putting those decisions in the hands of people who pay no price for being wrong."

Someone talking about how many inches, again?
BCM and Glock...for a bigger pile of 'cold dead hands' brass.

Re: 4 or 5 inch barrel difference
The gun magazines have done articles thru the years where they took a long barreled pistol and chrono'd the bullet speeds after cutting off 1 inch at a time. Did it with rifles too.
But of course ya had a variable depending if fast/slow burning powders were used.I don't speak English , I talk American!
