I've got a Covert, small enough and takes decent pics, standard size SD card . If I remember correctly it was 89 bucks.

This has been in my backyard taking pictures for 28 months straight. Both my Dad and my sister have the same model since before me and both are happy with them. They are very easy on batteries and take decent pictures. I've never used the video capability.

I like my reconyx, but it was spendy, I think I'm close to 10,000 shots on it now... good on batteries, a year is the best I can do on the lithiums, it'll peter out around 6000 shots..

leave it and forget it, it also have some cool soft ware that interface with google earth for mapping, scouting and so on, you can also keep good note and symbols with in the program... uploads to the web are easy.

I have two others from various manufacturers, both name brands, but since they never really stood out, I forgot the names..

Best value, hands down, is the truth cam 35 ultra Bronco linked you to. Best trigger of any camera I've ever used, easy to use, durable, good battery life and the new ones have time lapse which is nice for scouting new areas. You set it up to take a picture every few minutes then you can catch the deer coming out into a field or whatever even when they aren't close enough to trip the camera. The only cons I've found with this camera are the picture quality isn't the greatest (though not bad either) and it will blur with motion, especially at night.

edit: Just noticed the one Bronco linked you to is the original truth cam 35, not the ultra. The original is bigger and doesn't have the time lapse. Here is a link to the one I reviewed: http://www.amazon.com/Primos-Truth-C...h+cam+35+ultra

Most folks will simply suggest you buy what they bought. Search reviews on any that your interested in an look for the repeated complaints on a particular brand/model. Also there is an abundance of info here and a great place for advise. http://www.chasingame.com/ Hope it helps you.

I don't know the model but we've had good experience with our truth can as well. It serves dual wildlife and security duty at our cabin and does well. If anything, the trigger has been too sensitive at times.

I've been making my own for 8 years now. Best part is you are your own customer service if a cam stops working. It's a very addicting hobby if you ever start building them though. If you want to learn more about making them check out this site.

That site will help you sort it out, based upon your budget, etc.

I have two Wild Game IR cams I got in a two pack. That deal was important because it got me two cams, but not necessarily the exact cams I wanted. The night shots are just OK.

I've given my father-in-law a Spypoint that seems nice too.

    For me:

    1. Price matters
    2. IR (i'd get blackout IR if it was economical)
    3. Range
    4. Trigger speed.

If I was buying right now: Moultrie M-990i
