Merry Christmas to me
Well I got myself a new toy. I picked up a Dan Wesson PM7 in .45. I was about to buy another Springfield and while waiting I spotted this baby hanging on the wall. I remembered reading about the DW bobtail, and figured the Pointman was as nice (so was the price). Overall fit and finish is top notch. It's been dehorned and the checkering on the MSH is great. I will probably stone the very last row some, it's just too sharp. The trigger group is superb. At first it felt average, but after doing some dry firing it came around. There is very little take up (you could actually say no take up), no creep, and super crisp break. I still felt something though and couldn't put my finger on it (ha-pun intended). It appears the over-travel was never set. After adjusting it I would have sworn someone changed out the trigger group while I wasn't looking. I do see two areas that can be improved, and it's only nitpicking. The firing pin stop is too loose and allowing the extractor to clock. I don't have many rounds through it yet but it hasn't malfunctioned at all. The frame at the grip safety (Ed Brown) isn't to the exact radius, I would guess they were being conservative when fitting. Like I said both things are just because I'm too picky. All in all if I could buy five more I would. Ho Ho Ho to me!!!

I need a pic too! I've been interested in them for a little while now and need something to "push me over the edge"

Re: Merry Christmas to me
My camera is broke. I can only take pics with my phone and they stink. It's a standard Dan Wesson Pointman 7. Here's a link to the CZ website. http://www.cz-usa.com/data/productimg/main065.png

Well, Merry Christmas to me, too. I bought myself a Springfield Armory XD-40 S&W Sub Compact for carry. It is a great addition to my other handgun, the XD-45 in 4" barrel.

Re: Merry Christmas to me
It's nice to see everybody is getting just what they wanted.
I actually traded a XD40 Tac in on the DW. I just wasn't shooting it enough. I'll probably regret it but oh well they make more every day.

I got a great deal at Freedom Armory on a very lightly used XD-40. If it has more than a couple hundred rounds through it, I would surprised.

Re: Merry Christmas to me
I had roughly 500 rounds through mine, and except for the barrel hood being scuffed it looked factory fresh.

Re: Merry Christmas to me
Ok, I'm bringing this thread back to life for some pictures. I just got some new grips which I thought would be perfect for the Pointman. They are Maple burl color and are polished so it was hard to get a good pic with a phone. I couldn't wait to show you guys though.
