Pennsylvania Gunsmith School, Pittsburgh
Over the past years, my love for firearms has grown and grown. I just turned 20, and over the last decade I spent most of my time reading books about WWII weaponry (mainly firearms, field artillery, and tanks) and watching The History Channel. I was one of the few kids in my classes that actually had some other fascination other than something that was typical like music, sports, girls, ect. I didn't look to get laid, I looked to build my future arsenal.
Years pass, and many careers come and go from my grasp. A few I enjoyed, a couple I learned a lot from, and many that were just there to "pay the bills." Now I'm at another one of those bill-payin' jobs and I was looking to go to an art school in Pittsburgh. Dobie suggested "Hey, why not go to a school for gunsmithing. You certainly have a hardon for firearms."
I looked into it and found the PA Gunsmith School a grand total of 8 miles away. I just went in this morning for a meeting and tour of the rather small but elaborate facilities. I looked into the cost of materials, books, and all that jazz to round up to a total of about $25,000 for the entire 16-month long course. I'm sending out my application that needs to be signed by my father who still lives in Savannah, GA due to me needing a signature since I'm under 21.
Now a few things I'd like to possibly have answered. During my course, I will have to blue at LEAST 12 weapons. I only own one right now, which would be one of the twelve. I would like to ask if anyone would either be able to get a free blue job or at least holler at your friends who may need it. That will be in about 3-4 months, which I would end up posting in the respective area of the forum for that.
Another thing would be that I'll need to repair 35 weapons in my final semester, and then I'll post about that as well when the time comes.
My last possible question would be how to find any weird grants that I could possibly get to help me be able to do a bit more in the course. $25,000 is the bare minimum for the course and supplies, and any extra money I can get during the course can help me make my final projects end up nicer (as well as maybe do some side-work as well). Any suggestions, comments, criticisms, random remarks?

Go for it. Then post on here again as mentioned. I'm sure you will get a lot of people that have older guns laying around that would be interested in getting a free blew job.
(I'm sorry, I just had to put that last line in there
) I know I have a couple older pistols that could use a new coat on them. Good luck with your class.
The American Revolution would never have happened with gun control....
The day they want my guns, they'll have to bring theirs!!!Proud to be One of the 3%

Look at all you guys jumping on the free blue job! (Michele shakes head) Your mommas will be so proud!
As far as right now there really isn't anything wrong with any of my guns, but, i'm not opposed to them spending the day at the "spa". All girls need a "day of beauty".
Thank you for the offers and good luck in school!
