Default Follow up on 9mm help request: Range Report

I asked you folks for advice about the sw9ve at Gander Mountain for $279.00 and got a lot of great feedback.

I told you I was going to pick it up this weekend but used a credit card and picked it up tonight. I was only waiting for my pay on general principle that I don't like to use a credit card unless I really have to - I guess I really had to

On a side note they had some 40s in and offered me one for the same price but I wanted the 9.

I took it to Anthony Arms indoor range and I still can not wipe the grin off off my face. I think this is one of the best fire arms purchaces I have made in a while.

I was able to shoot one 10 shot 3" group at 25' (my best of 5 10 shot groups) - and I am no expert marksman. The double action only trigger pull really did not bother me.

The pistol has a solid feel, field stripped in less than 3 seconds!, has nice 3 dot sights, mags clicked in solidly. What is not to like?

I have heard the comment "ugly" - I do not see it.

Gander had a Fobus holster (under $30.00) that I picked up along with 250 rounds of bulk 9mm Remington for under $70.00. The Fobus holster is sweet - I tried it at the range.

Of course, not a FTFire, FTFeed or FTEject in the first 50 rounds.

    Sign me happy camper.

That's good to hear, I'm planning on getting mine this weekend. I rented one a few weeks ago and liked everything about it except the trigger pull, but I can live with that. If all goes according to plan I'll post a report when I get mine.

Glad to hear you're enjoying the pistol. Is your Fobus a plastic paddle holster? There's a video posted that shows how easily it is for someone to steal your gun holster and all.

Save up and invest in a good leather holster. You'll definitely feel a difference.

Well... that's just my 2 cents.

One last comment.... PICS!! We need some pictures! Also one of your best group if you still have the target.

I hope you are as tickled as I am.

I currently have a double action only semi-auto so that may have mitigated any annoyance with the trigger but I really did not find it bad at all.

And for the money I spent, I am very happy.

I will be looking for that range report.

    Yes a fobus paddle holster.

I don't know where my wife hid the camera and I have to get up early for work tomorrow. I will try to follow up with a picture.

I watched the video and the same thing is as likely with any holster. IMHO.

If someone gets the drop on you they can grab your gun - in any kind of holster.

The Sigma is an excellent Pistol, take it from a guy who also owns Sigs , Berettas, Glocks and Colts.

Mine is a second generation .40 compact, ne ver a problem with this Pistol.

If the trigger bothers you get a spring kit from www.gunsprings.com, the kit is like $10 but worth it , turns it into a nice trigger pull.

Excellent sights on these guns , points naturally with a superb grip angle.

Well better late than never, I got my sw9ve today. I got a really good deal on a slightly used one from the classifieds on this forum. I put a box through it and except for the fact that I can't shoot worth a danm it went well, no ftf or fte. Can't beat it for the money.

I got my Sigma last Monday and had to wait a LONG week till Saturday to hit the range. It was cold and my fingers were getting numb while loading the magazine, but dang it was fun to shoot that gun.

All in all a good investment in my opinion. By time I get the refund I'll be in for $284 total. Transfer and taxes included. I sent for my rebate and mags the day after it got here.
