    Default Magazine disposal

I have a couple of magazines that have seen better days so they need to go away. I pulled out the followers and springs to put into my box o'parts and was going to toss the tubes into the recycling bin. Then I put on my tin foil hat and thought better of it.

What would happen if the trash guys noticed it, got frightened and called the police? Would the police come pounding on my door?

I'm sure that many of you would relish the opportunity to match wits with the thin blue line but I don't my life to be that interesting.

So does anyone else think that the police will show up at my door if a mag tube is in my recycling bin?

^^^^^^ Flatten them with a big hammer and toss them in the recycle. I would bet that the recyclers won't even notice.

If they're the same kinds of guys that do our recycling, they won't even take them. I haven't seen a mag yet that has the recycle symbol on them.

Crush 'em or toss 'em in the river. The earth can use the iron.

So what if they call the police.

Besides, they don't pick open every bag and search the contents. They throw the bag in the back/top of the truck, crush it, then move on. Unless there are body parts hanging out or exuberant amounts of blood leaking - its likely they will never notice anything.

If you're that worried just throw them in your kitchen waste when it is half full, then fill the bag the rest of the way as usual. Maybe some archaeologist might find it in 5 million years, but its unlikely a waste management employee will.

Mark them "For LEO Only", toss em in a schoolyard with some spent brass and watch the news hoopla. Better yet get a dead woodchuck too..

Recycling is not usually in a bag.
