In my opinion a thumb safety is a personal preference.

I have a S&W M&P 40, SKU 209300, No Mag Safety, No Internal Lock, No Thumb Safety.

At least S&W give's us choices.

    My M&P 40 is stock with a TLR-2s.

Planned upgrades are Apex Tactical DCAEK and Trijicon contrasting night sights.

How do you like the storm lake barrel? I'm planning on getting the .40 to 9mm conversion barrel sometime soon. I already have the 9mm mags I got on sale.

Ben does great work on M&Ps and Glocks. He also undercut my trigger guard. As for the thumb safety, I also shoot 1911s, so I like having consistency between platforms.

I haven't noticed much of a difference with the Storm Lake barrel. At the time I went with it because I couldn't easily source a factory threaded barrel and it was on sale, so it didn't cost much more than the factory barrel would have cost anyway. The threaded barrel has the added benefit of pushing the muzzle blast further out which keeps my light clean.

I was thinking the same thing. Much better than the stippling work I've seen done by Salient Arms International and they charge a boatload more.

Great thought with that. You always hear people saying their lenses on the light get blackened from the muzzle blast. Very nice M&P you have there.

That is a sweet M&P you have right there. I really like the stipple job. Looks like a mean fighting machine.
