Default New Precision AR15 Build, my best yet...

My dream build is finally realized after Wilson Combat finally shipped me the barrel after a 5-month wait. I wanted to make this beyond one-of-a-kind and my ultimate build and I can't be any happier with it. I haven't shot it yet, but will do this weekend.

    The specs:
    -Seekins Precision lower
    -Mega side-charging upper
    -Young Manufacturing bolt carrier group
-Wilson Combat Super Sniper .223 Wylde 20" SS barrel
    -Samson Evolution Series quad rails
-RRA Predator Pursuit railed gas block
    -Giessele Super Dynamic Combat trigger
    -RRA lower parts kit
    -Tubb Precision target grip
    -Magpul PRS stock
-Nikon Prostaff 4-12x40mm (Burris 1" Xtreme, extra high)

It's a beautiful rifle, and looks like you have a lot into it. I'm looking forward to what you think of the setup. I'm not trying to be an asshole, but I don't quite understand how you can say "I couldn't be happier with it," if you haven't shot it yet. It just sounds a bit biased, and like even if she didn't shoot, you'd be very pleased with it because of what you have invested in it. I hope she shoots well, and I don't doubt that she will, it just seems a bit early to use that type of wording. Just my personal opinion, but I'd honestly consider changing the rings. You can obviously get a proper cheekweld with the PRS stock, but I just don't see the point of going with rings that are so tall. I mean you can use the side charging handle, so it's not even like keeping the scope above the charging handle is an issue. I also don't see the point in having the rings so far spread out and going to the rail on the handguard. You might as well just bring them in a bit closer and put them completely on the uppet. You can take it for what it's worth, but this is coming from a long range and precision rifle guy, but it all just seems a bit silly to me. For as much as you have invested in the rifle, I also wouldn't be surprised if one day you wanted to change the scope up a bit. I realize budgets allow for only certain things, and that's the case with my custom rifle as well. I just think at some point in time, it'll be one of the things you'll want to upgrade. It's a great looking rifle, keep us posted and let us know how she shoots.

Thanks y'all! I will take her out a few times before writing some feedback on her performance. Keep in mind I'm not a precision shooter.

Thank you for your advice. I should've mentioned that I'm not a precision shooter and have really just started out with shooting rifles. This is, however, my 5th AR and the one that is missing from the set: a precision rifle.

Given the fact that my other 3 AR rifles (the 4th is a pistol), even though were constructed with premium, semi-premium, and cheap parts, and still shot every well, this one being constructed of mainly premium parts (especially the barrel), I have no doubt that it will perform way beyond what I'm capable of at this time. So while I haven't shot it, it turned out to be exactly what I imagined my precision build would be/look like since a year and a half ago, I'm quite happy with it.

Unless there is a reason to keep the rings close together, I'm not a fan of symmetry and like it that way. As for the ring height, I'm planning on putting a 50mm scope on it, probably sooner rather than later. I don't want to have to spend money on another set of rings.

Thanks for your thoughts on this. I really appreciate the comments.

I noticed you have used this company for lowers on other AR builds. What makes you stick with this company?

I am researching for my purchase or build. Was thinking of Spikes lower, but love how your lower breaks the mold.

I already know what grip I want, stock, thinking of trigger assembly, and looking into uppers. Or just get RR.
