TulAmmo in a Smith and Wesson Bodyguard .380
Hello all, my step brother just purchased a smith and wesson bodyguard and with it he bought a box of 50 rounds of blazer fmj. We went to the range that day and ran all 50 rounds through it without a single failure. Today, we wanted to take the women with us to go shoot and bought 3 boxes of .380 TulAmmo from Walmart. We got to the range, loaded the first magazine and had 3 out of 6 rounds fail to fire. We tried a few more magazines with the same results, 2 to 4 rounds out of the 6 failing to fire. Just wondering if anyone else has had this issue? Also providing a warning to .380 bodyguard owners out there to stay away from TulAmmo, unless of course, it has worked flawlessly for you?

Re: TulAmmo in a Smith and Wesson Bodyguard .380
I have shot a lot of 9mm, 45acp and 223 with out any failure to fires. Have had a couple failure to extracts but that was with a brand new 1911 with 10rd mags. So i can't fully blame that on ammo.
Can you explain more what happened ? did you try to rechamber the rounds and fire them again?Tantric Shooting Team

Pagoda, we did try to rechamber the first couple and fire them again and had the same issues. On all of the failed to fire rounds, you can see where the firing pin hit. Basically after trying about 20 rounds only 8-10 actually fired.

Re: TulAmmo in a Smith and Wesson Bodyguard .380
I purchased four boxes of TulAmmo .380 last week. Took my mint Browning BDA to the indoor range and fired 50 Sellier & Belloit 92 Gr FMJ's with decent accuracy, then loaded my three magazines -total 33 rounds with TulAmmo. Groups resembled a #2 buckshot pattern. Looked like some of the bullets keyholed the target too. Fired with lots of smoke and muzzle flash and coated the entire front to the pistol with soot. No failures though. When I cleaned the gun it was disgusting. I don't know what I'll shoot the other three boxes with, but you can bet it won't be the shiny BDA.

I also tried them in my bodyguard and the same thing happened. I have had no problem with 4 other manufactures. Actualy the gun is extremely accurate with winchester rounds.

Good to hear that the issue is constant among S&W bodyguards. Sucks that he is stuck with 130 rounds or so of Tula .380.

I get the WWB .380 when they have it, 100 rounds is like $3.00 more on average and it's cleaner and haven't had problems.

The fiance has run Tulammo through her Bersa Thunder CC. She had a couple rounds that didn't fire, like 2 or 3 out of 150, they fired when they were re-chambered.
We usually get Winchester now so we can save the brass for reloading.
Expensive round. lol
