Default S&W Sigma 9mm Trigger question.

I know I could take my new S&W Sigma to a gunsmith and ask for a trigger improvement and when said gunsmith was finished with it, it would have a much nicer 6 pound DAO pull than the current 8-12 pound DAO pull. I don't really feel like spending a bunch (or any) money on a gunsmith for something that seems like a simple enough procedure.

Does anyone have instructions for how to work the trigger on this model of S&W? Which, if any, parts do I need? Any help would be appreciated.

I'm one of the few people who don't have a problem with the trigger pull on the Sigma series. I had both a SW9VE and a SW40VE but have sold them cause of financial reasons. I put about 500 rounds through each gun and noticed a big difference in the trigger. Was smoother and shot better. I also liked the heavy trigger cause it doesn't have a safety.

    Just my two cents.

Cool Re: S&W Sigma 9mm Trigger question.

I was looking at the Sigma series a year ago. In hunting for comments about the gun I saw a post somewhere that stated that S&W would adjust the trigger pull for free. I don't remember what he said about shipping. I didn't see anything on there website, but I would contact their customer service department and check. That was the only negative I ever read about the Sigma's was the trigger pull being heavy.

I think the trigger is going to stay in stock form for the first 500 rounds. That was a good piece of advice, I should have had the sense to give myself. After that, if I think it still needs a big improvement, I'll do the spring removal mod. Instead of removing the outer spring entirely, is there a lighter spring one can substitute? I'm going for a pull of around 6 pounds.

the only reason that the 2 springs were there was from the lawsuite filed by glock over this design, part of the settlement was the addition of the 2 springs. take them both off and you have about a 5lb pull. do not remove just one, gets squishy.

I've cleaned up a bunch of Sigma triggers. Just dump those two springs and don't worry about a thing. There is also a small casting line on the plastic sear carrier that can be smoothed off.

After that, we go into striker springs and polishing......

I shot a sigma with maybe 50k rounds through it (rental range whore gun) and it had one of the nicest triggers in a plastic pistol! almost convinced me to buy one instead of a walther p99.... almost

Could u send me the more detailed version? In the seven yrs I've had my SW9VE, the trigger has eased up but my carpal tunnel has gotten worse.
