"Hello thread question"
I do not have a support issue or suggestion but do have a question.
When I said hello in the hello thread I got some rep points... and I thought that was extremely cool. Then I noticed there was a trend of people getting rep points when posting in that thread. Again I think that is extremely cool. Does anyone have vague notion how this idea started? Link?

I think Headcase just took it upon himself to give out rep to the newbies
 I don't think there was any organized effort

I was bored and thought it would be a nice thing for a new person to get rep points. I will go through that thread once a day, write down the names of the new people who have posted, with join dates of no more than 45 days previous, and randomly pick them out of a hat. If no one posts, I go through the members list and use the criteria mentioned to narrow down newbies, and then I find their posts, make sure they're not trolls, and then they "win".
