You mean like this


first use a [ brakcket, then add youtube and close the bracket ] put in every thing in the embeded youtube line past the = so from
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=o8vynqUWnKI you would take o8vynqUWnKI and then place a bracket [ again and /youtube and a close bracket]... Voila

without the spaces, it would look like [ youtube ] o8vynqUWnKI [ / youtube ]

oh. ok! I was on another forum and saw a youtube icon in the tool bar of the thread page. I thought if it didn't have that icon then it didn't have the ability to embed video.

From another thread I posted the instructions on .......

It's hard to show you without the tags disappearing so I made some pictures for you.



In your example you would put these around the se8ABHcq8g4 in other words between what I've shown in blue and brown.

Sometimes you'll have an url that has crap after the identifier like this:

youtube.com/watch?v=3Rvgkr3GA0E&feature=related

In this case you take everything after the = and before the &, simple huh?

OK, what am I doing wrong. I tried to put a video on a thread I started.

I used the URL they list on the side first. I placed on the end. When I posted it. It was just a big white square.

Then I did the same thing with the web address up above. ( I believe it was the same. But tried it anyway.) It was still a big white square.

Anyone give me a hand here.

After re-reading this thread. I figured out what I was doing wrong. I put the entire address in and not just the block of numbers.

Nope, not hard at all

Tip o' the day:

To post BBcode in a way that the board software does not see it as BBCode , without tricking it with spaces or images simply use the [noparse] tag. Resulting text is exactly asone would type it to use it and one can simply copy and paste if they wanted,

In the above examples you would type this:
[noparse][youtube]video_name_xyz123[/youtube][/noparse]

And that would display in your post as:
[youtube]video_name_xyz123[/youtube]
