Oh that, my guess is that vBSEO does that so we can track outbound link statistics.

Obviously your site and none of my business but this is what I was told when I was thinking of making this change to my board ...

Any change from stock vB URL's is the worst possible thing you can ever do to your site.

There are about 100 reaons why they are so terrible, but the most important reason is once you change the URL format, you must use that same format forever. Every upgrade you ever do must consider that URL format.

You will have 100's if not 1000's of links across the web from people posting links to the site, posting links in one thread to another thread, etc.

If you change the stock URLs, you must keep your new URL format for life. It is a permanent change. And it's impossible to ensure your new URL's will always work with all future upgrades.

" I realize that at times it can be annoying but the benefits it brings us are astronomical with regards to google. There's a reason PAFOA comes up before many companies for their own products names. Here are some impressive placements on google "

Considering the Lawsuits Google is involved in ... I believe the sayin' is " With friends like that, who needs enemies ".
Their E-Mail spying and my Rights lead me to believe that they are not the folks I'd like to sit down and have a beer with ... unless , of course I had an armed back-up and my Lawyer on speed dial.

When I first posted this complaint not everybody understood what I was talking about because I did not explain well enough. So, I am not sure I have heard a response from Dan on the issue. The issue is that in the Lounge, and only the Lounge, redirects requiring refresh are automatically added to any links posted by users.

Dan, please evaluate if there is a true benefit for this in your opinion. It does not work with my browser configuration and I am at my wits end. It takes me as long as a couple minutes to open a link posted by another member. My browser configuration is intentional, so I am not asking for assistance with that. This is the only place it causes me such tribulations. Thanks for your consideration.

What many don't realize about SEO (I do that for a living too) is that Google shows results based on where the searcher is (your IP address). You can have 20 people around the country use the same search term and every one of them will get different results.

Hello ungawa,

I did respond last time and explained what it was, but I also believe I disabled the configuration option that was doing it.

Could I get confirmation that vBSEO is the reason the urls on this forum are unlike most other vB forums? I've been confused about that.

Mucho thanks in advance.

EDIT - never mind.... I can clearly see what is happening after making this post. The url is quite interesting!

Whatever you are doing Dan seems to be working, it appears your site has some phenomenal growth.
