Thumbs up Ported SA XD9 V10 Video

The ported XD9 I recently acquired has been the cause of much discussion, so I figured I'd post a video. The idea was to capture the blast coming out of the ports, but it wasn't really dark enough, and I didn't have time. Also, this was crappy range ammo. I'm going back to the range Friday, maybe I'll wait until things get a little darker and get my hands on some hotter ammo. I'm also going to try to take some high resolution still images of the ports in action, so that should be interesting. Big thanks to camera girl Mrs Rwb1500.

Good enough! You can see the fire in three shots. Scan must have missed the others.

That ought to be enough to melt the eyebrows.

Wow - that muzzle has zero climb.

Is your nickname "ironfists" or does that porting really make that big of a difference?

You know, I'm not exactly sure. I've never used a non-ported 9mm XD, so I don't have a great point of reference. I can say that the felt recoil is minimal, practically non-existant compared to my KT PF9. Just a little lift of the hands and a big boom. I'm liking it more and more every time I shoot it.

It is pretty easy to keep 6 rounds on an 8 inch circle target in fairly rapid fire.

I know, I know, I also need to quit smoking... I'm just getting into the bad habit of wanting this gun as far away from my face as possible.

IMO porting makes a big difference. i was able to shoot a glock 40 cal that was compensated and it was a beautiful thing to keep a 40 cal from jumping around on me.
