Default Just picked up my first hand gun as a PA resident

    Hey All,

First day on the forum. I just moved to PA after about a years stint in the Peoples Republic of NJ. Being a native Missourian, I was ready to pick up a handgun first chance I got. I finally got my license transferred over and stopped by Village Arms in Gap and picked up my first gun today.

I picked up a Taurus PTI 140 Pro, .40 caliber. I held a few guns and this one just felt right to me. I walked out with the gun and a box of Winchester full metal jacket rounds.

So I'm proud to say I'm now a gun owner in PA.

Just had that to say, I'm very proud and looking forward to finding a decent place to shoot.

Welcome to the state, if you haven't applied for your license to carry a firearm yet you should go down to your sheriff's office and do so; it covers many more things than just concealed carry, especially in regards to transporting a firearm

This thread is also a great start towards understand PA's gun laws. http://forum.pafoa.org/concealed-ope...nsylvania.html

Welcome to Pennsylvania from the immigrant camp too.

I presume with the transferred license you meant your drivers license, not your Missouri Concealed Carry Permit. Even if, you are no longer a Missouri resident, so I am not sure it is still considered valid (though IANAL, so I could be wrong).

In any case, it would be a good idea to plan a short visit to the Sheriff's office to get your PA License to Carry Firearms. It makes even going to the range easier and safer for you.

Welcoem and congrats on the new gun, expecting a range report when you get a chance to get out and shoot it.
