Upper Allen Township to amend law banning weapons in parks

Upper Allen Township commissioners are preparing to change an ordinance that bans people from carrying weapons in township parks. Manager Lou Fazekas said the commissioners have been aware the ordinance is at odds with the state Uniform Firearms Act, which allows most people to carry firearms in most public places. The act says no municipality can supersede the provisions of the state law.
Commissioners in Upper Allen Twp. got a request from a resident to change the ordinance. Fazekas said park signs that say all firearms are prohibited will be changed.
The commissioners will review the proposed change at their meeting at 6:30 p.m. May 19.Peace, Prosperity, and Liberty

Yea, nice job to whom ever stepped up!!!
Wish it could be done in Abington.
I was just thinking about Parks when my wife and I were thinking about going through Penny Pack or Lorimore.
Those are places where I would not want to follow the signs.
