Re: Firearm Owners Against Crime- Biased BS!!
So, lemme see if I have this right - FOAC is publishing an opinion about candidates that they like, and you're offended because they have a viewpoint?
FOAC has been very active in accomplishing real change that benefits Pennsylvania gun owners is substantive ways. I'm neither a member nor an officer of FOAC, but I've exchanged emails with Kim Stolfer and I have no doubt whatsoever that he is a reliable and trustworthy fighter for law-abiding gun owners.
Perhaps you could attack Brady and VPC and other organizations that are explicitly trying to infringe your rights, instead of undermining one of the few effective pro-gun organizations in PA. Reminds me a bit of the folks who like PAFOA enough to spend many hours on the site, but as soon as they find something that they'd want to do differently, they savage the site as though it were promoting kiddie porn or communism or forced conversion to Islam.

Re: Firearm Owners Against Crime- Biased BS!!
Thanks for the information about how you grade your candidates.
It clears up the question for me.
Thanks for all of your hard work and time.
Much appreciated for your efforts.
Keep it up.
Question: Is the information you provided about the process of how you grade the candidates available on your website?

Re: Firearm Owners Against Crime- Biased BS!!
I dont speak to represent (but I am a member), but just looking around (took me 2 min) will start to answer your questions:
The FOAC process is specific and thorough as well as determined by our bylaws
and member directive. FOAC is a member driven organization. Our members are
active and well informed on political issues at both a state and federal level.
Legislators and candidates are welcome to attend our meetings and state their case as
well as to answer questions directed to them from our members. A vote on endorsing
major candidates is always taken of the members after debate and review of the
analysis of the candidate’s completed questionnaire and debate is and has been very
dynamic. When one acquires the support of FOAC that entails the active involvement
of our member's time and resources, personal as well as organizational, as well as
extending our reputation to that candidate as one who can be supported because his/her
philosophy and/or record show a dedication to our rights and heritage. Candidates for
statewide office are evaluated every election cycle. These evaluations are then placed
on an FOAC voter guide and distributed throughout the region.

Re: Firearm Owners Against Crime- Biased BS!!
I was just made aware of this thread and it is very disturbing that anyone will make allegations against the organization I chair, FOAC, without even first having the decency to ask us how we arrived at our decision. So I will explain it here!
We examine incumbents voting records and this examination includes votes in committee as well as on the floor and we factor in all votes not just the most recent session. We also must have on record a questionnaire so that we can see where they stand on a variety of issues. All one has to do is ask any candidate who has received our questionnaire and they will quickly tell you it is the most difficult one that they receive. We do not make our decisions lightly! On the other hand we will not flavor our decisions with politics and the record is clear throughout our voters guides that we are the most unbiased political organization that you will ever find since we base our decisions on issues.
I have attached Rep. Kanjorski's record and if anyone likes I can supply several videos that will show exactly how Rep. Kanjorski comports himself on other issues such as Iraq. In one of these videos Rep. Kanjorski admits that he lied about Iraq. As you can see from the record that I have attached Rep. Kanjorski has voted against us at least two of every three times and if you like you can click on the links and you can take it right back to the source votes.
Our meetings are open to the public and any gun owner who would like to attend. Our process is very specific and determined by our bylaws.
FOAC has been reviewing and analyzing candidates for 17 years and we are an organization completely comprised of volunteers who are unpaid but dedicated to our Constitution. The reason we exist is because of the poor record of some organizations and recommending candidates who are not qualified to hold office and in our opinion Rep. Kanjorski has violated his oath of office and the trust of his constituents and the American people. So I leave it to you to look at his record and you make the decision. We have made ours!

Re: Firearm Owners Against Crime- Biased BS!!
Arlen Specter has been pro-gun. The only vote he ever did that was anti-gun was the universal reciprocity vote. And that was after he switched parties and all the Democrats were saying he was still a Republican and would vote the same as he always had (about 60-70% Republican). Specter has a very difficult primary. Sestak is a communist in Democrat clothing. Heck they kicked Sestak out of the Navy for it.
People dump on Specter around here, but that's because most of the people here are so far to the right they call Glen Beck a liberal.

Re: Firearm Owners Against Crime- Biased BS!!
Our meetings are open to the public and any gun owner who would like to attend.
The meetings are about 5 hours from Philadelphia.
I did find the way the grading process is handled under the purpose link.
Just a possibility maybe add the link to the voting recommendations page?
Just a thought for people to quick to jump the gun.
Thanks again, Louis
And - Spector sucks!!!! Just try and contact him on anything. All he is doing is making money and enjoying his golden years.
