Chrome Or Blued
When I bought my Kel Tec PF9 and could not find the blued or the parked so I went with the chrome slide. I was going to trade someone for the blued but people are saying i am crazy and should keep the chrome it will last alot longer then the blued or parked. What do you guys think I dont know much about the finishes and how they hold up I am some what new to this so any help would be cool. This is my carry gun and is switched between a pocket and IWB holster.

Re: Chrome Or Blued
One of the first guns I ever bought was a blued Kel Tec P32. I desperately wanted hard chrome. I even thought about sending it back to the factory and for about $90 they'd hard chrome it. Long story short the P32 is long gone but I've gained an appreciation for blued steel. Its not as corrosion resistant as other finishes, nor is it as pretty as some, but it is a basic, traditional finish and most firearms come this way. High quality blued steel can also have a nice look to it. I love the way it looks after a good cleaning and a bit of oil and a rubdown with the old silicone cloth. All that being said the blue finish on my P32 was shite. Hopefully your Kel Tec is a little better.
Moral of the story? Different strokes. Oh yeah, and keep her oiled, especially if you carry IWB. Nothing rusts a blued gun quicker than having it against a sweaty body.Selling off a a sizeable Spyderco collection here
