    Yes its 8+1
The OP's question makes it obvious that he is trying to learn about firearms. There's no need to poke fun at his gun, or the fact that he called it a clip instead of a magazine.

Yes that makes it +1 when there is a round in the chamber, regardless of the amount of ammo in the magazine.

    Please use periods.

    +1 Agreed ^^^

The C9 was my first handgun and it is what gave me the fever. Enjoy!

But they are different. A "buck" is a slang term referring to money, while a clip and a mag actually are different items... But I agree with your last sentence...

This. Many newer gun owners, and many long time gun owners call them all "clips". We know what they are talking about.. so instead of responding snarky we should either respond using "magazine" in place of "clip" in the answer, or else simply explain it in a nice manor. Honestly, pretty much my whole life, I called it a clip. It was just natural. But we all know what they mean, just try and guide them, not force them away.

Don't let these guys get you down. I got crucified my first few posts. You'll get the hang of it. Sorry we stomped all over your balls when all you wanted was help. Some rep coming your way for the bruising.

    Did someone say HI-Point?

Thats mine by the way. And I disagree with those opposed to correcting the young fella as to the proper terminolgy.
A clip is what I insert into my garand, a magazine is what I use for my AK.

If you have an extra magazine. Try this to go +1. On my Sigma 9mm I load up one magazine to it's capacity of 16 rounds. Then I load one round into an extra magazine, load this into the pistol and chamber the round. I eject the magazine and put the full one in. This saves me the trouble of toping off the full magazine twice as that can be a pain sometimes.
