Hollow-point NO GOOD FOR CONCEAL?
Luckily, i've never had to use my concealed g19 in order to save my life or those of my loved ones. Some time ago a buddy of mine had told me that he wouldnt recommend carrying anything other than hollowpoints for self-defense. But somewhere else i heard that hollowpoints wont serve their purpose at short distances (not sure if true but he sounded quite certain), so i did what i thought was the best of both worlds and i now load my 15 rd mag with alternating one hollowpoint with a non hollowpoint, etc.. WHAT DO YOU THINK ABOUT THIS, AND WHAT DO YOU PREFER??

They will absolutely serve their purpose at short range.
I don't think it would be a great idea to alternate like that, I would imagine having rounds of different weight and velocity could cause stray rounds that could injure an innocent bystander should you ever have to use it.

Re: Hollow-point NO GOOD FOR CONCEAL?
Hi, i would use all hollow points, either corbon or doubletap +P+ seeing you
are carrying a somewhat underpowered handgun. But its better than nothing.
Our troops in Iraq now are completely fed up with 9mm, they want stopping
power.
Ball ammo will most likely pass right thru the body, a hollow point will expand making a
bigger diameter wound.
take care

not to start beating a dead horse, but i'm not sure many people will agree with the 9mm being underpowered, myself included........... hollow points work well and will expand quite well at short distances..............as for ball ammo, IMO there is nothing wrong with carrying ball ammo - put your shots on target and that's what will matter...............i do agree with the poster who said that carrying alternating loads is not a good idea.................... and for the next person who says 9mm doesn't have any stopping power, don't say that until you think you'd be tough enough to take 3 to the chest whilst wearing a vest - you'll find out quite quickly just how much power that little bullet has by how you feel in the morning.............

Re: Hollow-point NO GOOD FOR CONCEAL?
9mm was designed to maim and wound on the battlefield. same with .223
Wound them and let 2 comrades carry them off the battlefield. Our forces
in Iraq DEMAND stopping power.
You want to just wound or maim a gang banger thats firing in your face????????

Re: Hollow-point NO GOOD FOR CONCEAL?
Can you tell me a bullet you would willingly get shot with?
I feel 9mm is underpowered for a single shot, but IMO 9mm is usually chosen because of how quick the follow up shots can be, so you're getting 2shots in there instead of 1 with a 45.. it's all about your tactics and such, but theres nothing wrong w/ carrying a 9mm thats for sure..
and in the case of a 500s&w, your getting about 5shots per 500 shot if not more...
and may i ask wtf that is? come on now

Re: Hollow-point NO GOOD FOR CONCEAL?
good stuff... yea and no disrespect whatsoever but "your wrong." In no way is 9mm underpowered, especially for conceal carry. a 22 will kill you in close proximity. its just a matter of choice, i like having something with little recoil that i can get a few inch spread at 25 yards in rapid succession, its not what size caliber, its what you are trained to do with it. thanks for looking.

Our troops in Irag are DEMANDING a higher powered round, i respect there
experience, they get fired on everyday almost, we dont, well unless you are married
>> but IMO 9mm is usually chosen because of how quick the follow up shots can be,
so much for high capacity eh???? eh ? eh eh , sorry
>>>so you're getting 2shots in there instead of 1 with a 45.. it's all about your tactics and such, but theres nothing wrong w/ carrying a 9mm thats for sure..
Down at wexford i fired alot of 9 nines, the recoil was more snappy than
my hk45, i think i could unload my 45 faster

Re: Hollow-point NO GOOD FOR CONCEAL?
Do your homework my friends
9mm / .223 / 7.62x39 (AK) were designed to maim and wound and have 2
people get tied up carrying the guy off the battlefield
man this is basic stuff
