FEG PA-63 jamming with hollow points
so took my dad and his FEG PA-63 out to the range today and the gun would not cycle a round with a fully loaded mag it would only cycle a round when the mag only had one round in it. I dunno if it don't like hollow points or the mag is messed up any help would be great

Re: FEG PA-63 jamming with hollow points
A lot of older designs like the PA-63 were never meant to shoot hollowpoints. Blowback type pistols can be especially finicky because the barrel doesn't tip down to feed a new round. My PPK won't even feed certain FMJ rounds depending on the bullet shape.
Trying a different mag certainly can't hurt, but if the gun eats FMJ ammo ok then I think you need to try out a different type of HP ammo.

Re: FEG PA-63 jamming with hollow points
You didn't mention what BRAND hollow points you were shooting.
Look at some other brands, they have different shapes and some even have some lead right at the edge of the jacket which would impact the ramp. If it shoots FMJ reliably, you should be able to find one manufacturer or another which it will handle reasonably well.

Re: FEG PA-63 jamming with hollow points
willie has it. this gun is based on the ppk design, and has the same limitations. it can be tweaked, but this is on a case by case basis. of the two PA-63 i have, neither will feed HP without mods. one of 4 mags i got was problematic.
not much advantage to HP in this chambering, anyway. testing has indicated that most HP do not open up at velocities in this range.
