Default Another Holster Question (pocket holster)

I have been carrying for a couple of weeks now and have been using an Uncle Mikes IWB. Sometimes it feels alright and I forget its there and others it sucks may be the differant pants and how it sits in each. It also works better if I put it just under the belt and not in the pants. I was thinking A pocket holster I have a Kel Tec PF9 and it does fit ok in the pocket Just looking for a good holster and any info on pocket carry.

regardless of your mode of carry a decent holster (and belt if its belt worn) is a must.

    that uncle mikes aint it.

If the PF-9 fits in your pockets (they are a bit big for that role) then look into a FIST kydex pocket holster. On the belt IWB I would get a crossbreed mini-tuck if I where you or perhaps a comp-tac model. None of these are cheap, but this equipment is there to save your life, think about it.

I was useing an Uncle Mikes pockit holster years ago. I had to sew a pieces of plastic inside it to ease drawing of the gun. I ended up going to a local leather shop and had them replicate it in leather.

I use a Don Hume H715 M IWB holster. I find it to be very comfortable. My CC weapon fits in my pocket, but I have so much other stuff in there that I don't think a pocket holster would work for me. As Shawn L. said, a good belt is a great investment. I have a Don Hume, and many people swear by Beltman.
I carry a gun cause a cop is too heavy. Hippie and 3%er.

I also think the PF9 would be a little big in your pocket. A P3AT is very comfortable in your pocket, barely know its there. I have a unkle Mikes IWB also, I find IWB very uncomfortable there so for CC its the P3AT unless its weather I can wear clothing to cover a regular holster.

I occasionally use an Uncle Mike's Sidekick pocket holster when I carry my snubbie. I like it.

I've got Galco (old holster and I don't recall the name or model) and Mikas pocket holsters. Both are for .38 snubbies.
The Mikas holster is better, IMHO...cheaper too (less then $20).

Uncle Mikes' holster tend to come out of the pocket when you draw (yeah, got one of them too). Some guys have sewn velco or other sticky stuff. Better to spend the dollars and buy a good holster.

Pocket carry has been my primary method of carry for years. Smaller guns are limited in capacity and caliber...that's the trade off for ease of carry.

    This guy:
    http://www.frontiernet.net/~akim/

makes great pocket holsters... but you'd have to check to see if he makes one for your gun.
