Pittsburgh Public Ranges
I am looking for a public range that allows both rifles and handguns.
I would like to be able to bring my own ammo, but this is not required.
I will be around Pleasant Hills but distance isn't a big deal.
Just a one day event. I am coming to Pittsburgh from Philly. I am bringing 10 guns, and my brother wants to go shooting for his bacholer party. My friend is a member at Library, but this Saturday is a members only day. So, that kind of fell through.
I have ordered 5000 rounds of ammo, but understand if a range is better, and I have to buy theres.

Re: Pittsburgh Public Ranges
unfortunately, i cannot think of a good place to send you.
the greater pittsburgh gun club would have been perfect, but it has been closed for a few years now.
most of the clubs i know of are not open to the public.
there is a state game land range near the intersection of I-79 and route 910, but i'm not sure it would really be suitable for your purposes. it's free and you can shoot rifles and pistols, but there are mag limits and other rules that might make it less than suitable for what you want to do.
hopefully someone knows of a place i do not and will chime in with an answer.
but, i at least did not want you to think we were all ignoring you.F*S=k

There is Anthony Arms (http://anthonyarms.com/range.html). You have to buy their ammo and I am uncertain if they permit rifles but they do list a couple on the list of their rentals.

Re: Pittsburgh Public Ranges
To my knowledge, Anthony Arms allows only pistol calibers in their range, so if you have a carbine in a pistol caliber, that's fine too. But last I checked (2 yrs ago), you have to buy ammo from them to shoot at their range, and there's a range fee. They do have a bunch of rentals you can try.
I haven't gone back there in a long time, 'cuz 1 trip there can usually pay for my year's membership at PMSC,.
