Default teenage fan tased mid-field at phillies game by philadelphia police

we just returned from the phils/cardinals game at citizens bank park..

during mid game a fan ran out into the middle of the field, and despite 10 of the grounds crew chasing him, a fat philly cop drew his taser, fumbled and fired in front of a sold out crowd including many many children.

this comes only a couple days after an off-duty officer shot 3 people and killed one in south philadelphia

i am speechless. we left early in disgust.

    ps: welcome back pafoa!

Yeah, no one has ever been hurt when fans run onto the field...oh, wait...

I am not sure what relevance the off-duty cop murdering his brother-in-law has on this story. It's unreasonable to equate a killing, in anger, while not on duty to the use of excessive force, if that's what you're trying say. I also fail to see how the fatness of the cop has anything to do with his use of the Taser, given the fact that 10 ground crews have failed to detain him, unless all 10 of them are just as fat (which wasn't the case per the video here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VqtPUhYdz6M).

Maybe using Taser was a little excessive, but until parents do their jobs of raising their kids properly, don't expect government law enforcers to do their job in an expected manner on their kids.

If you watch the video, the players aren't stupid.

They back up and get no where near that dude.

    I am glad that happened.

You have no idea what that guys was doing, he was not supposed to be there and posed a threat to people, players, employees.

    It was funny though.

Fun is fun, but that is something you are not supposed to do.

I see nothing wrong with tazing the little punk. He's old enough to know better and maybe the next idiot will think twice. But I think the Steelers way leaves more of an impression on the individual. LOL

The dumb ass even called his dad and asked for permission. Dad said no. Kid earned what he got.

Tasered teen asked dad for OK to run on field
    By Peter Mucha

"He wasn't drinking. He was not on drugs," said the father of the teen Tasered by police in the outfield at Citizens Bank Park last night.

Steve Consalvi, 17, is a senior at Boyertown High and "a real good student, heading to Penn State," according to his father, Wayne, 45, who owns Consalvi Auto Repair in Pottstown.

Steve even called from the park last night, asking for permission to run on the field, as the Phillies hosted the St. Louis Cardinals, the elder Consalvi said.

"He said, 'Dad, can I run on the field? I said, 'I don't think you should, son.' "

"This would be a once in a lifetime experience!" the son said.

There wasn't any dare or a bet, involving the friends the teen was with.

Fearing the worst, the father called a buddy, Lou Caparoni, also at the game.

"Stevie's going to run on the field! You gotta stop him!" Wayne Consalvi recalled.

He knew his buddy, seated in another part of Citizens Bank Park, probably couldn't help.

Apparently not, because it happened again the very next night. However, this guy couldn't run 15 steps without passing out, so he walked right over to the security officer. Of course, the moron had narcotics in his possession.
