Your postbit is officially one of the coolest things on the forum, haha.

I know a few people have had more than one type, not sure if anyone's ever had that many at the same time.

    Thank you very much!

HP Proliant GL380 server, in a RAID 1 config, with one hot spare drive. Install ESXi on it and P-to-V the existing server, then move the database to a seperate partition. Keep a spare image of the virtual server on hand in case something blows up, and four days of downtime turns into five minutes or less.

Now we just need to run a $10,000 fundraiser to generate the startup money...
oooOK? I hope somebody understands that. I did purchase a forum subscription so I'll pitch in my 10 FRN's and leave the technical stuff to, well the techs I guess. If everyone here could do that then we would have the $ we need!

Move the whole thing to a colo where you have hands immediately available, even if it means paying per incident. N+1 drives in anything single threaded (presumably like the DB box). Out of band access to all of it (if you want, I can probably see about having an old Cisco 2511--anyone else remember them--fall off the truck, which make great terminal servers).

I'll donate cycles (I do infrastructure architecture for a living) or cash. I just moved 20 racks from scotland (where I have hands) to Amsterdam (where I don't) for something with a lot more cash running thru it than PAFOA. Making it go fast is easy--managing it from over the Channel or across the Pond is slightly more tricky--and I think that's the challenge you will face with PAFOA going forward.
