Default As promisied, a Fobus holster "test".

    Well. . . Not really.
I promised to get a buddy to test out the fobus against attack in the "why not to use kydex thread". I did not have a camera handy this week, so I just threw somthing together real quick today.

It is not the same test as the other youtube vid we all know. I ADMIT, this vid really can't count for much as far as a true "test".

    It is what it is.

    Please comment!

From my angle, I was unable to "break" the holster. I was able to pull it out of my pants tho. . . .

In this vid I am just trying to show if the new holsters break as easy as the old ones.
I will do a new vid when I can with a person "playing" the gun grabber.

I WANT TO SAY: Pulling the gun from the holster can be done at any angle with enough force. Like a leather one. It is not easy to pull it at an angle, but it can be done.

A belt looped holster wont come off.
So it's up to you guys to decide what you use. I still think the Fobus is ok (I admit not great, or ideal) for CC.
Even better for around ones property, and range use. . .

i have an old model Fobus for my P226 and a new one for my M&P9c but they only get used for range duty. if im going to CC or OC i prefer to have leather and some more retention than just a pull to get it out. real kydex is pretty strong stuff and may suit some people but everyones different.

I gotta do a real test with my buddy.
It did not break here, but I doubt an attacker would be pulling up and towards my body!! lol

But all in all, I do like it. . .

**also, the plastic did bend a bit out of shape. I got a new one from Fobus about an hour ago. No issues.

Good test. You definitely need another person to replicate that other video.

I think the trick is to get a firm grip on it, and turn it at a 90 degree angle.

It was the older Fobus holsters that had the breakage problem. After that one video hit the 'net about 3-4 years ago they did some work to their design.

all i can say is to each his own, I had an atv accident with a longslide glock in a fobus, it never came out of the holster and the only thing that got messed up was a little bit of the grip, I love em'

Good demonstration. I'd be interested in seeing a test similar to the other video you speak of. That guy made it look easy, but I'd like to see how easy he'd do that with the new holsters.

I'd also like to see a similar test done with the iTAC defense retention holster.

I picked one of these up for my Glock and love it so far. It's mostly just for range use, but I'd trust it if I had to in a situation like the video presents...unless I see it break like the old Fobus holsters.
