Refinishing polymer AR15 stock
I got a Magpul 93B stock that was originally FDE, but the previous owner painted black. The paint is wearing, I'm looking to repaint/refinish black, but this time, more "permanent". What are my options, both do-it-yourself or sending it out for someone to work on. Thanks for your input.

strip it (probably by light sanding) and re-finish with durocoat.
Or, one of my favorites, truck bed coating.

Re: Refinishing polymer AR15 stock
I agree lightly sand it or bead blast it and use Duracoat

Re: Refinishing polymer AR15 stock
Thank you both. I'll consider it. I haven't done Duracoating before so I'll have to figure that out.

Duracoating is pretty easy. IIRC You can get the instructions from their web site.
I also found this:

Non bake Cerakote is also an option.

I've had great luck with Brownell's Alumahyde. No baking needed, and holds up well so far. I FDE'd my M&P 357c (just the frame), and am happy with it so far.

I may end up refinishing one of mine as well.

Re: Refinishing polymer AR15 stock
Not that I recommend it at this time (Not sue how it will hold up - nor would I paint an AR with it... hmmm, then again...), but I just spray painted the polymer stock of my Plinkster with Valspar textured "stone" finish. ("Manhattan Mist" grey/black/white flecks)
I cleaned it with ammonia, lightly sanded it w/200 grit sandpaper, cleaned it again, then sprayed it.
I'm going to post photos, but I ran into a snag with another part of the project. Stock looks great though.
As for the other suggestions, I'm liking the "no bake" products. There's no way in hell my wife would be cool with baking a rifle in the oven and stinking it up.I called to check my ZIP CODE!....DY-NO-MITE!!!
