Stoeger O/U 3000?

I tried Forum search so her comes the ?

Found a clean 20 gauge, 26" rib with chokes.
looking for a starter trap/clay gun for my kids( 11 & 13 yo)
1st How is this brand shotgun, it is clean but used, does not have a name on it ,except 3000, and was made in Brazil.

2nd Function of an o/u as opposed to a pump action with clay and newbies.
I only ever learned to shot w/ a pump but I see most using o/u.
My club has trap and my son would like to try so I want to start him in the correct direction.

It's a good starter and a bit of a work horse. Just keep it clean and oiled. I've got one that I use on days that are not real nice, rain and snow days.

An O/U is faster for the second shot and good for staying on target.

It is on the low end of O/U.

It will work for him learning.

Pay attention to extractor vs ejection for O/U. Barrel length and how they can shoot the gun is what matters.

Does the gun fit them.

Place the butt of the gun with their arm bent and see if they can reach the trigger.

Let em use this and then later get a browning citori, beretta, etc..
