    Default 1911 buying decision: HELP!

I need to make this decision in the next few hours. I have been wanting to treat myself to a nice 1911.

Dan Wesson Valor, Stainless, NIB, tritium NS, $1500 OTD. Yea or Nay? Why?

    THANKS!

i've shot a few dan wesson 1911's and they were very nice guns, though for that price range I think i'd look at the SA TRP.

I'm sure they are nice, but might be better to look around first. Here's a Dan Wesson someone has in the classifieds.

I don't think many Valors were made though, so the ultimate decision is yours. I'd go for a SA TRP or one of those Colt Special Combat Gov't Carrys.

I did a quick check on Gunbroker and that seems the average price. I say go for it, but only if you have looked at other 1911s in that price range and you're sure that's the one you want. If not, it appears that deal can be had pretty regularly and you can look a bit.

Thumbs up Re: 1911 buying decision: HELP!

Dan Wesson only makes a few hundred valors per year. They are very nice and kinda hard to come by.
You must pay attention to the man behind the curtain. Or you will loose.

Not sure if you intend your 1911 for carry, but if you do I'd recommend considering a Colt Defender.

They can be hard to come by but mine in .45 ACP is "very" accurate and they will also hold their value.
