H335 is fairly cheap, and usually available, at least around here, where I am. Works well through the powder measure.
Varget, I think is easier to weight, with the course granules, than the fine H335 powder. Haven't tried it with the powder measure, because I'm pretty sure it won't work well. I don't know about .30-06, but with .308Win and the bullets that I use you can completely stuff the case with Varget, and it won't blow up the rifle.* Lee and Hodgdon 150gr .308 data shows a max charge of 47 grains, which would be compressed.
* - I'm sure it's probably possible blow up a .308Win rifle with Varget powder. Just follow the load manuals.Removed NRA Life Member pic. LaPierre and Chris Cox are ruining NRA.

i used imr 4064 in my built .243 win on a 98k turkish action behind a 85 gr hollow point and wore my barrel in after i got done cambering it and blued it the load was 36 gr 4064 3105 fps and clocked water juggs at 500 yrds no problem ITS JUST a good powder.

check out IMR 8208 its an extreme powder and not affected much by temperature changes. Using 8208 i have a .308 load consistantly holding a standard deviation of 8 fps.
