Default NHRPC Precision & Longer Distance Carbine Match 5/22

    Hi,

Registration is open for the May 22 match.

Mandatory safety briefing starts at 0830.

Info and online registration are available on the NHRPC Practical & Precision Rifle page:

    $25.00 guests, $20.00 NHRPC members.

This match has actually two separate courses of fire available. Shooters may register as either Precision, or Carbine. You shoot one OR the other.

Carbine shooters will be confronted with longer distance shots than usual, but don't turn chicken and run away just yet. Remember that you are in Pennsylvania, and that since the dawn of our country our state has been known for producing the best rifles, and putting the best shooters behind them.

Morgan called on Murphy and said: "That gallant officer is General Fraser. I admire him, but it is necessary that he should die, do your duty." Murphy climbed a nearby tree, took careful aim at the extreme distance of 300 yards, and fired. Fraser tumbled from his horse, shot through the midsection. British Senior officer Sir Francis Clerke, General Burgoyne's chief aide-de-camp, galloped onto the field with a message. Murphy's second shot killed him instantly.

If he could do it in 1775 with a muzzleloader, you can do it in 2010 with an AR-15.

There are only about 10 rounds fired at 400-500Y. Most are 300 and 200Y. It is do-able with iron sights if you are experienced but so as not to make the spirit of Tim Murphy shake his head in disbelief, an optic is recommended.

Bring 100-120 rounds carbine, and 50-60 Precision. If you have never shot movers or pop-up targets, I promise these two alone will be worth the trip.

CoF is listed here, but is subject to alteration for prevailing range conditions or other safety issue: http://spreadsheets.google.com/pub?k...=0&output=html

We have some great shooting stacked up. Come on out and have a safe and fun day of shooting. Email with any questions please.
