    Default I'm gonna buy a Glock 19

I've decided to come over to the dark side. My only problem is where to get it. I'm giving Gander Mt serious consideration because they will let me use lay away and pay for it over a few weeks, which is great because I don't know that I can come up with all the cash all at once. If anyone has any other suggestions in Central PA (Harrisburg area) I'd love to hear them.

Cheapest I've seen them around here are $499

Don't pay any more than that because there are a bunch of shops where you can get them at that price.

If you have to have new, I would save the cash and buy online. Unless you can find a local shop that will beat that price, I doubt you will find one cheaper. Find a FFL that will accept the pistol for you, they normally charge 25 bucks for the transfer. You will have to pay shipping as well, but you won't have to pay tax.

I would get a GSSF membership and buy a Glock through their program. After paying for the memebership, you will come out about the same money wise, but you will also have the membership.

I know you mentioned not having all of the money at once, but there is there Gun show in York next weekend and then numerous others throughout the year.

The shop I use (Schuylkill Gun Works) sells new Glocks @ $488. According to their website they don't have any in stock, but he can get things in pretty quickly. I got my G19 from them. Google gun shops in zip 17972. It's a bit of a drive from the Harrisburg area but they price is hard to beat. You can also check the classifieds on here. I've seen a few G19's recently.

Gander is usually way over priced. They go for $499 at the shops I go to. If you want to you could ask any shop if they will do payments? If you want to buy online you could maybe save a little money.
Buds has them @ $494 shipped, with payments as low as $15 a month.

Here is another good price. They charge $20 to ship. They are currently sold out though.

Gander Mt is way overpriced. I'm going to go in there on my day off this week and raise a little hell. $10-$25 bucks wouldn't be a huge deal to me but there is no reason their price should be $100 over the competition. It's a little ridiculous. I'll go complain and see if they'll throw me a bone. Otherwise I'll just take my business elsewhere. I envision the demise of Gander Mt if they keep going this way. Especially the one in Harrisburg.

    Thanks for all your opinions.

Yeah, you'd be better off making "payments" to yourself.

Stick a few bucks in an envelope until you have enough. Paying too much doesn't make sense, as "layaway" means they keep it until it's paid for. You can do that all by yourself and pay less doing so.

However you decide to get it, you won't regret it. I have never had any problems or complaints with my Glock 19. Good choice.
