Completely Free Beginner Training
I think this is a great idea. I never heard of First Shots until I read a news article this afternoon. It's a completely free 3-4 hour introductory training program for beginners sponsored by the NSSF. They teach safety, local/state/federal laws and marksmanship. Handguns, ammo and ear/eye protection is all provided for the student.
I'm sure the host range benefits from first time handgun sales, future range time, etc.
Just looked at their website and the only PA range with classes (June, July) is Freedom Armory in Glen Rock.
Seems like a great way to give first-timers or those that are intimidated a start.
